One sentence: This series deserves to be a bestseller. This book is, in short, fantastic! I read the first two books on my Kindle, then immediately purchased this one. Chelsea Bellingeri combines elements from fantasy, realistic fiction, historical fiction, and mystery to create one epic series about witches, murder, intrigue, and romance.

I have to say, I love the characters. Alex is the perfect example of how modern teenage girls really are. Sometimes they can be incredibly brave and noble, but at other moments Alex can be vulnerable and emotional. I think that the whole love story is really cute, and adds an element that teens as well as adults will be captivated by.

I also LOVE the plot line! Alex is faced with this incredible danger of Liam, who is trying to protect her so he can kill her later on. I love the whole mysterious historical element of this series, tying in the Salem Witch Trials to this modern-day fantasy. I think that Liam is a villain with a deeper, more interesting element than that of most antagonists in books. We see his tender side when he rescues Alex from the torture near the end of the book, as well as the fact that Liam can't bear to annihilate his mother's soul. Also, when Liam gives Vanessa's heart to Alex, he is showing a sort of kindness that is not often found in villains. But we all know that, deep down, Liam wants to sacrifice Alex on her 18th birthday.

I would recommend this book to ANYONE. Teens, kids, adults; everyone would enjoy this book. Please read or check out this book, everyone, and help make the series bestselling as it should be!! I can't wait for the sequel to come out later this spring!

This is the 3rd book in the New England Witch Chronicles Series with the 4th due to come out in the Spring 2013. The books are well-written in general and it is apparent that the target audience is YA. I had a difficult time believing some of the relationships between Alex and her step-father and Alex and her mother. While Liam is the antagonist, he is likeable and I almost hope that the author can find a way for both Alex and Liam to survive together. I did enjoy the books and will read the 4th when it comes out so I can find out how everything ends.
I love this series more and more with each book! Loved all the plot twists and surprises! Can't wait to pick up the next book, but at the same time I don't want it to end!!!!!
I must say this author again captured my attention! Read this third book as I did Book One and Book Two --straight through and nary a stop!! Loved it but hating my "book hangover" can not wait for Book 4 and was happy to see a release date was posted. I will eagerly be awaiting it!! I should note there were few to none wording errors or spelling mistakes - which would not have kept me from reading bc the characters have come alive for me since the first book of the series! A pleasure of a read!
Chelsea has done it, once again! Her first two books of the series were amazing, so naturally I couldn't wait to read Wicked Betrayal. It was well worth the wait! Another wonderful story from an amazing storyteller. I can't wait for the final piece to the series and hopefully lots more to come from Chelsea! And just a side note, I have never met an author who makes her fans feel appreciated. I emailed Chelsea a few weeks ago just to tell her how much I loved her New England Witch Chronicles series, and she emailed me back with so much appreciation and gratitude. An amazing author AND person...definitely one of my all-time favs!
After completing the first two titles of this series, I was eager to get to the next entry. And just as I found in the second title, this third story roars through to its conclusion only to leave the big picture still unseen. Now, I'm hesitant to start the final episode because I'll have difficulty finding another well written, suspenseful and solid collection to follow. I confess that Ms. Bellingeri has spoiled me. If, like me, you enjoy a totally believable story with some strange paranormal undertones, then treat yourself to this modern and yet very old witchy tale.
This is the third, in a series of four books. I didn't review the first one, because I didn't know how. I didn't review the second because I was in too much of a hurry to start the third. My reviews would have all been similar anyway. I'm really enjoying this series! I wanted a good, witchy book, and I found it here! No dull moments in these books. They kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next, which made them hard to put down. To me, that's the sign of a good book. I did learn though, that this author likes a serious cliffhanger. I recommend reading the series, just know that it's a commitment to four books, not just one. But that's a bonus, finding a good series is a great thing. I'm really enjoying these, they're fun. I'm moving on to the fourth one right now.
The author’s writing style has greatly improved since the first book. I am actually enjoying the story now. The book could use more detail because the characters are one dimensional but it’s bearable. I am glad I only spent 99 cents on this book. If I spent more money I would have given it less stars. You get what you pay for.
